![]() Since that's kinda cumbersome to remember to say every time (especially for my wife who also uses these devices too and isn't very tech savvy) I also made Routines that will convert the normal command "Hey Google, play Today's Hits" to actually run the prior command in the background, "Hey Google, play radio station Today's Hits". And even adding a simple " a" before " radio" also causes it to play the playlist instead. So while I was troubleshooting specific phrases for the command on my own I discovered that "Hey Google, play radio station Today's Hits" or "Hey Google, play radio station Toddler Radio" works every single time on all my Home devices (x2 Minis and a Hub) and my phone (Pixel 2 XL Pie). and I end up getting the Thumbs Up playlist. Usually I say "Hey Google, play Today's Hits" or "Hey Google, play Toddler Radio", etc. I've found what I think might be a workaround but I'd prefer it work normally. I contacted Google and Pandora and neither really have a solution yet (still working with Google on troubleshooting). After getting fed up I started troubleshooting. I've had this same problem for months now and it's very annoying. TL DR: Try "Hey Google, play Radio" (and maybe add "on Pandora" to the end of that.) I'm kinda interested in seeing if it really is just a command syntax problem. Give this a try, and let me know how well it works for you all. I've even deleted all of the thumbs up playlists from my app and from the website, but it was still playing them for some reason. ![]() I think the issue is that I was saying things like "Hey Google, play my Beer and Bagpipes Radio station." the word "my" at the beginning seems to consistently make the assistant choose the thumbs up playlist instead of the radio station, even though I've explicitly said things like "Radio," "Radio Station," and "Station" while trying to make it actually play the station itself. " So I tried it with my station for Irish folk and pub rock (Beer and Bagpipes radio) by saying "Hey Google, play Beer and Bagpipes Radio." Google Home actually started playing the radio station instead of the thumbs up playlist. I was actually chatting with google support about it, and they asked me to try the command "Hey Google, play. ![]() I just had a bit of a spark of insight on how to somewhat work around this issue, as it has been driving me nuts for the past month or two.
